Therapist Serving Salt Lake City, Utah | Lionheart Counseling LLC

If you're in Salt Lake City and looking for a therapist who specializes in the kind of work that actually gets to the root of things — self-sabotage, unhealed trauma, and the deep negative beliefs that keep people stuck — Lionheart Counseling LLC is here.

‍ ‍

We serve adults throughout Salt Lake City through telehealth video sessions and in-person appointments at our Murray, Utah office, just minutes south of Salt Lake City.

‍ ‍

Who We Work With

‍ ‍

Lionheart Counseling works with adults who are done surviving their own story and ready to start writing a different one. The people we work with are often dealing with:

‍ ‍

  • Self-sabotage that keeps undermining their relationships, careers, and sense of self — often without fully understanding why

  • Unhealed trauma that lives in the body and nervous system, not just in memory

  • Negative core beliefs that feel like facts — "I'm a failure," "I don't deserve good things," "Something is fundamentally wrong with me"

  • Anxiety that creates invisible limits on what they allow themselves to pursue or become

  • Depression that leaves them functioning but not really living

‍ ‍

If you've been dealing with any of this and you're finally ready to do something about it — not just manage it, but actually change it — this is a good place to start.

‍ ‍

Evidence-Based Therapy That Actually Changes Things

‍ ‍

At Lionheart Counseling, we use four primary evidence-based approaches — EMDR Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy — to address your patterns at the root level. Not just symptom management. Real, lasting change.

‍ ‍

My approach is warm and direct in equal measure. I lead with grace. I'm genuinely in your corner — and I'll bring honesty, care, and real investment to every session.

‍ ‍

  • "I've counseled with Dax about several different interpersonal issues. He is very objective and always makes sure to think before he speaks. I would recommend Dax if you need someone who really listens to understand and isn't going to butt in or talk about himself. He has a genuine heart for people and wants to them succeed. If you're ready to dig in and move forward in your life and relationships, Dax is definitely someone you want on your team."

  • "Do yourself a favor and get to know this guy! I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) of 30 years. I’ve known a lot of therapists over the years, I would, and would not, recommend. I am SUPER picky about who I refer people to. Dax is one I highly recommend without reservation. He’s bright, soulful, grounded, compassionate, and passionate! He truly has a lion’s heart. And he has a great story that led him to where he is. He’s a good man doing good work in the world. He’ll take good care of you."
